The AXBL All-Star game was during Event 3 at Paintball Quest in Sodus NY.  The Americans changed up their All-Star format this year in preparation for the new and improved conference structure for 2010.  AXBL teams were broken up by actual geographical location then split right down the middle to create the new Western and Eastern All-Star teams.  Each team gets to pick their best player to represent them and help lead their team to victory.

This year’s Western captain, Buddy Baur, from Rochester didn’t waste any time leading his team to a score of 7-2 by the end of the first half. Even with good teams, a major penalty can totally change a game as Western gets a major with 2:41 left on the clock in the first half. Eastern scores 1 point before the half ends and then 3 more straight points before they feel the pressure of 2 minor penalties.  With about 10 min left on the clock, Eastern Captain, Dan Zaleski from Newark, tries to keep his teams momentum but struggles and finishing the last 10 minutes with 3 more minors and only 1 more point.  Final score Western 11 Eastern 6.
